Itachi's Sharingan
The Sharingan (写 轮 眼; Literally meaning "copy wheel eye", Meaning (Viz) "mirror wheel eye") is a dōjutsu kekkei genkai, which appeared in some members of the Uchiha clan. [1] While its power was first used by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, its form True first occurred in Indra, the early ancestor of the Uchiha clan, and was later considered to be one of the Three Great Dojutsu (三大 瞳 术, San Daidōjutsu; Literally meaning "Three great eye techniques"), along with the Byakugan and Rinnegan. 2] The Sharingan is also called the "Eye Eye" (天 眼, Tengan), due to its many inherited / gifted abilities. [3] Tobirama Senju defines it as "the eye that reflects the heart" (心 を 写 す 瞳, Kokoro o utsusu hitomi). [4]

 Stages
The Sharingan's power, due to its association with the Curse of Hatred, is both a blessing and a curse. When an Uchiha is aware of strong emotions toward a person, such as love and friendship, the stressful or emotional state brought out of the loss of a precious person causes the brain to release a special form of chakra that affects the optic nerve while changing the eye into the Sharingan. [5] After initial activation, The Sharingan can be used freely, although it is possible for the Uchiha to lose memory from such an event and not activate it until through a whim at a later time. [6] [7] When the Sharingan is first activated by the user, it has a different number of templates: Bihongo around the central pupil, varying between each user. [8] [6] he user of the Sharingan, through continuous use and training, results in further deformation, which involves the full eye having three tomoe. As the Sharingan evolves, the user's ability gain increases through increased visibility. For example, they can at least copy hand movements with one tomoe, predict a person's movements and copy techniques with two tomoe and actually use their Sharingan abilities when fully mature. Of the several characters they reveal, this dojutsu apparently "glows" in the dark. [9] [10] True to its name, the Sharingan and its derived forms have demonstrated the ability to rotate. [11] This suggests that when a person awakens their Mangekyō Sharingan without a mature Sharingan, their Sharingan will automatically immediately evolve into the Mangekyō Sharingan. [12]
